EXPERIENCES / SABLETIDE
The Making Studio
Time to make something with your hands, guided by local materials and the landscape.
Ask what is possible during your visit. Every experience is shaped by the weather, the season, and the people who join.

WHEN
Selected dates
The Making Studio gives a half day to observation and hands-on work. Begin by noticing the lines, colours, and textures that make the coast feel distinct, then bring those impressions to a shared table of materials. A guide introduces the session and offers a few ways into the work; you can follow an idea, try a new technique, or simply see what takes shape.
Each session has its own materials, pace, and finished possibilities. The activity may change across selected dates, so ask what is planned before you reserve a place. You do not need previous experience unless a particular session says otherwise. Wear something comfortable for making, and check in advance whether materials are supplied, whether a piece can be taken away, and if any additional charge applies.
The studio is intended to leave room for different ways of participating. If you would like to know about the work surface, seating, lighting, tools, or step-free access, tell us what matters to you when you enquire. We will confirm the arrangements for that session and explain any practical limits before you decide.
Selected dates keep the gathering small enough for conversation and unhurried attention. The setting may shift with the weather, but the invitation remains simple: spend time noticing, making, and sharing the process. You can take a pause whenever you need one, and there is no single result everyone is expected to produce. Check the current session description and availability, then leave the rest of the afternoon open.
